Valerie Martin
In January of 2010, Valerie “Val” Martin joined Elements of Design as an intern from Scottsdale Community College. It was immediately apparent to the Elements of Design team that in addition to her creative design talent, Val brought a nurturing, accountable, team-first approach to her vocation. As a result, upon completion of her college internship, Val officially joined the Elements of Design team as a project designer, AutoCAD specialist, and vendor manager. In addition to her methodical proficiency with AutoCAD, Val maintains working knowledge of Google Sketch Up and a variety of industry-relevant technologies. In 2005, after spending numerous happy years as an accomplished stay-at-home mother and corporate wife, Val decided it was time to return to college to pursue her lifelong interest in interior design. In 2007, Val received a certificate of completion (CCL) in Interior Furnishings and Materials from Glendale Community College. Then, in 2009, Val received an Associates of Applied Sciences (AAS) in Interior Design from Scottsdale Community College. Currently, Val is pursuing her Interior Design Certificate, Professional Level (CCL) from Scottsdale Community College. Val is on pace to complete the certificate based program in the latter half of 2010 with a cumulative 3.85 GPA. Val is an active student member in the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) Arizona North Chapter. Over the past several years, she has participated in numerous PTA organizations, neighborhood HOAs as well as a variety of parental support group organizations. As a creative hobby Val collects antiques and vintage dinnerware. "As the mother of two boys, I know firsthand the importance of selecting quality durable furniture, fixtures, and interior products.
