Marcela Molina
With a background that is rich in culture and steeped with knowledge of design and the representation of forms in architecture, Marcela Molina contributes her sophisticated grasp of complex design concepts to the Elements of Design team. Her experience with AutoCAD, Revit, and a variety of virtualization and 3D modeling software programs brings a unique perspective to the conceptual display of the client fulfillment process. Over and above her contributions as an assistant project manager, Marcela serves as the fabric and vendor librarian at Elements of Design.
In 2008, Marcela had the privilege of designing an “American Indian Cultural Center” for Mesa Community College. In order to conceptualize culturally representative design concepts, she spent countless hours researching and studying Native American culture and symbolism.
Marcela graduated with a Bachelor of Architecture from National University of Colombia, Manizales with a 3.90 GPA. After immigrating to the United States, she served three years in the interior design program at Mesa Community College in Mesa, Arizona. Currently, Marcela is the student representative to the Arizona North Chapter of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID).
In addition to her employment at Elements of Design, Marcela serves as a teacher’s assistant for AutoCAD classes at Mesa Community College (MCC). Her duties at MCC also include serving as a lab assistant in the Interior Design program.
In 2007, Marcela was presented with the “Outstanding Kitchen Design” award from the annual Subzero/Wolf competition. While attending National University, she authored a meritorious thesis for her degree in architecture titled, “Restructuring of the Public Space in the Traditional Center of Ibague.”
“Taking the time to assess the true essence of an interior space is the key to unlocking its design potential.” - Marcela Molina, ASID Student Representative
